The essay briefly introduced the development of size press devices and drying section of paper machines.Firstly, the development of size press is described, starting with twin roll trough sizers, then followed by gate-roll sizers and ending up with rod-metering sizers and spray sizers. And related adaptive devices suitable to high-speed paper machines consist of Foil-Force 1 which enables to execute successful tail threading quickly without any mistake, and iRoll intelligent roll technology which enables to measure nip load profile and rod load profile in real time during operation. Secondly, the technology development of drying section is introduced. Single layered dryers are used more frequently nowadays in high speed paper machines. HiRun blowing box adaptive to the drying section could guarantee the high speed and stable operation of paper machines, reduce the drawing power to paper sheets, and ensure high quality of paper and paper products. Moreover, it also introduced vertical drying and up-to-date penetrable drying OptiDry, which promotes rather effective evaporation by natural gas heating and direct spray of heated air as well.
