An Analysis of the Citation Curve Characteristics of Highly Cited Papers in the Context of Library and Information Science

[目的/意义]研究图情领域引文曲线的特征差异,采用多维标度方法发现研究者的变化和研究主题的变化与引文曲线特征变化之间的关系,这有利于不同研究者找到研究同行、推进学科发展;并结合睡美人文献的研究,以便挖掘学科研究前沿。[方法/过程]通过对336篇图书情报高被引论文绘制引文曲线,发现经典、指数增长、多峰、波形、睡美人、指数下降六种引文曲线类型。并进行引文曲线形状特征分析、采用标度分析方法进行引文曲线特征差异分析、引文网络特征分析、引文曲线分布状态分析。[结果/结论]结果发现:(1)Avramescu提出的某些引文曲线均有出现之外,还出现了新的引文曲线类型,"多峰引文曲线"、"波形引文曲线"和"指数下降引文曲线"。(2)不同研究主题,被引最佳年限,不同作者的高被引论文引文曲线特征都存在差异。(3)高被引论文引文曲线特征可以用来识别不同的研究方向和不同的研究团队。

[ Purpose/Significance ] The paper studies the characteristic differences of citation curve in the field of Library and Information Science. With the multidimensional scaling methods, we find the relationship between change of the citation curve characteristics and change of researchers and research topics, which is conducive to finding research peers, promoting discipline development, and mining frontier research combined with the study of sleeping beauty literature. [ Method/Process] Based on the citation curves of 336 highly cited papers on library and information science, we find that there are six types of citation curves： classical, exponential growth, multi peak, waveform, sleeping beauty and exponential decline. Taking the highly cited papers as the research object, the paper analyzes the character- istics of the citation curve shape, uses the scale analysis method to analyze the difference of the citation curve, analyzes the characteristics of the citation network, and analyzes the distribution state of the citation curve. [ Result/Conclusion ] Some of the curves presented by Avramescu citation appeared, there also appeared new types of citation curves, such as the ＂multi peak curve of citation＇, ＂citation waveform curve＂ and ＂citation index decreased curve＇. The highly cited papers of different themes, different authors, and different cited years have citation curves with different characteristics; characteristics of citation curves of highly cited papers can be used for the recognition of different research direction and different research team.
