This brief survey of ethical pragmatics as a cutting-edge interdisciplinary research field defines the new sub-branch of pragmatics in the context of its neighboring interdisciplinary fields, outlines an array of topics that might be addressed, and reconsiders some classic topics of pragmatics in light of the newly emerging field. It is recommended that cross-cultural ethical differences be properly taken into account when undertaking cross-cultural or intercultural ethical pragmatic research.
