摘要
本文通过问卷调查的方式,考察了我国大学生英语语用、语法能力的发展情况,并讨论了性别、性格等学习者个体因素对二者发展的影响。调查发现:(1)我国大学生的英语语用能力显著高于其语法能力,这为外语学习中的"语用优先论"提供了支持;(2)我国大学生的英语语用意识程度显著高于其语法意识程度,且语用意识程度与语用能力之间、语法意识程度与语法能力之间显著相关,这为"有意注意假设"提供了语用层面的证据支持;(3)我国大学生的英语语用能力、语法能力与性别、年龄、性格、英语水平、英语学习年限等学习者个体差异因素无显著相关性。
By adopting two questionnaires, this paper examines the development of English pragmatic and grammatical competence of Chinese tertiary-level students; it also discusses the influences of such individual learner differences as age, gender, personality, and years of English learning on the development of these two competences. Results show that (1) Chinese tertiary-level students' pragmatic competence in English is significantly higher than their grammatical competence, which supports the claim of"Pragmatics Precedes Grammar"; (2) Chinese tertiary-level students' degree of English pragmatic awareness is significantly higher than that of grammatical awareness, which verifies "The Noticing Hypothesis" at the pragmati and (3) Chinese tertiary-level students' c lane; English pragmatic and grammatical competence are not significantly influenced by the individual learner factors of gender, age, years of English learning, personality and proficiency
