海外中国当代文学史写作——历史转型中的《中国当代文学史稿》

The Writing of Histories of Contemporary Chinese Literature Overseas:A Draft History of Contemporary Chinese Literature in the Historical Transformation

林曼叔等的《中国当代文学史稿(1949-1965大陆部分)》,对我们了解冷战时期,尤其是上世纪七八十年代转折时期的海外中国当代文学史写作具有重要意义。史稿构建了现实主义文学史观,并由此开展了对这一时期一些文学创作的独到评判,初步梳理了这一时期的作家管理机制。但在大陆政治文化生活逐渐"解冻"的历史转型时期,该书的结构模式并没有超越同时期大陆的文学史写作,同时由于过度信奉预设的文学史观念,以至对这一时期一些文学事象的评述缺乏一种历史感和国际视野。同样值得关注的另一个问题,是著者文学史观念与写作实践之间的矛盾和裂缝,对一些文学史问题处理缺乏前瞻性。这也是同时期海外中国现当代文学写作存在的共通现象。

A Draft History of Contemporary Chinese Literature（1949-1965, China's Mainland section）, by Manshu Lin et al, is of significance to the understanding of the writing of histories of contemporary Chinese literature overseas in the Cold War period, particularly in the transformative period of the 1970s and 1980s as the draft history constructs the literary-historical views of realism and engages in unique critiques of literary creations in that period of time while combing through the management mechanism of writers in the period as well. However, in the historical transformative period in which political and cultural life on the main/and is thawing, the structural pattern of the book has not gone beyond the main/and writing of literary histories in the same period and, because of its over-adherence to the pre-set concepts of literary histories, its description of literary phenomena in the period lacks a historical sense and an international field vision. Equally worth attention is another issue that the book has a lack of forward-lookingness in relation to a number of literary-historical issues as a result of the contradictions and rifts between the writer＇s literary-historical concepts and the writing practice, which is also a common phenomenon that existed with the writing of histories of contemporary Chinese literature overseas in the same period.
