A Survey of osteoporosis awareness among middle-aged and elderly residents in community

目的 通过对大兴区社区人群的骨质疏松症认知基线调查,初步了解大兴区社区人群对骨质疏松症的认知程度,为后期培训、干预等工作提供数据支持。方法本研究采用分层随机抽样的方法,于2017年3~4月对北京市大兴区1000名50岁以上社区居民及361名社区卫生医务人员进行骨质疏松症认知度问卷调查,调查问卷内容包括骨质疏松症基本知识及对骨质疏松症的认知情况、对骨质疏松症健康教育方面的态度及需求等。结果回答准确率较高的依次是康复与防止跌倒(72.97%)、骨质疏松症的常见表现(68.95%)、骨质疏松症的相关危险因素(61.17%)、骨骼与饮食(60.83%);回答准确率较低的依次是补钙剂(40.73%)、诊断与治疗(48.92%)、骨骼与运动(55.00%)。结论居民对骨质疏松症总体认知程度一般,应尽快开展健康教育等干预措施,提升居民认知度水平。

Objective To primarily understand the awareness degree of osteoporosis among the population in Daxing District community by investigating the cognitive baseline of osteoporosis in Daxing District community, so as to provide data support for post-training and intervention. Methods In this study, stratified random sampling was used to carry out the osteoporosis awareness questionnaire for 1000 cases of community residents aged over 50 years and 361 community medical personnel in Daxing District, Beijing from March to April 2017. The questionnaire included the basic knowl- edge of osteoporosis and the awareness of osteoporosis, the attitude and needs of osteoporosis, health education, etc. Results The higher accuracy of answer was rehabilitation and prevention of falls（72.97%）, common manifestations of os- teoporosis （68.95%）, relevant risk factors for osteoporosis（61.17%）, bone and diet（60.83%） respectively; the lower accu- racy of answer was calcium supplement（40.73%）, diagnosis and treatment（48.92%）, and bone and exercise（55.00%） re- spectively. Conclusion Residents＂ overall awareness of osteoporosis is general, and health education and other interven- tions should be carried out as soon as possible so as to enhance the level of awareness of residents.
