Simulation for Reduction of Windage Loss of Spiral Bevel Gear

摘要 齿轮的风阻损失是齿轮传动机械损失的重要组成部分,而降低弧齿锥齿轮的风阻损失可以提高航空发动机的燃油经济性,很有意义。对弧齿锥齿轮的风阻损失进行仿真分析,研究了4种不同结构导流板对风阻损失的影响,同时考虑了导流板与齿轮间距离以及轮齿线速度的影响,并以某航空发动机中央传动弧齿锥齿轮为例,对导流板的工程应用进行了初步评估。结果表明,应用合适结构的导流板可以有效降低风阻损失约75%。当导流板结构不合适时可能增加风阻损失约25%。导流板与齿轮间距离越小,对风阻损失的影响越大。当轮齿线速度不同时,导流板对风阻损失的影响具有相同的趋势。 Since windage power loss from spiral bevel gear in aero application has adverse influence on aero engine fuel efficiency, it is beneficial to conduct investigation on minimizing the loss. The simulation analysis of the windage loss of spiral bevel gear is carried out, the influences of four different types of baffles on the windage loss are studied, the influence of varying distance between baffles and gear, with different gear tooth tangential velocities is considered. Taking the central drive spiral bevel gear of an aero engine as example, the preliminary evaluation of applying baffle in practical design is conducted. The results indicate that baffle could significantly reduce windage loss, by nearly 75% , whereas a failed configuration of baffle will increase windage loss, by 25%. The higher influence is achieved with smaller distance between baffle and gear. The similar trends are obtained with different gear tooth tangential velocities.
