With the improvement of people's living standards and the accelerated pace of life, essential hypertension has become a common disease of our daily life, and one of the important diseases affecting our health. It is characterized by the elevation of blood pressure and abnormal rhythm. Patients with essential hypertension are usually accompanied with disturbances of sleep architecture, such as short sleep duration and poor sleep quality, which suggests that there might be a certain link between blood pressure rhythm and sleep architecture. For patients suffering from essential hypertension and sleep disorder, studying the mechanism of how sleep disorders affect blood pressure and improving the quality of sleep may help us to make more individualized treatment plan and improve the prognosis, which may also provide a new direction in the mechanism research and clinical treatment for essential hypertension.
