As one of the most famous Nigerian writers,Chinua Achebe is the father of African Literature.In his writings,Africa has its own language,specific belief and traditional culture.Based on the tragic life of the hero Ogonkwo,Things Fall Apart expresses the unique life of the native Africans before the settlement of westerners.In this novel,there are strong traditional wedding ceremonies and views of marriage that show the specific features in Igbo culture,which is quite different from traditional Chinese culture.Thus,analyzing the wedding ceremony in this novel can reveal the cultural difference,and promote cross cultural communication.
