基于MATLAB的车牌号码识别系统

License Plate Recognition System Based on MATLAB

随着我国汽车数量的增加,车牌号码的识别技术在车辆管理中起着越来越重要的作用,这一技术实现了道路交通管理自动化和车辆行驶智能化,是智能交通管理系统中的关键技术之一。本文介绍了使用MATLAB软件环境对车牌图像的预处理,包括车牌灰度化、边缘检测、灰度腐蚀、平滑处理、车牌定位、字符分割和字符识别,实现了车牌自动识别功能。

With the increase of cars in our country,the license plate recognition technology plays an increasingly important role in vehicle management. This technology realizes the automation of road traffic management and the intelligent vehicle driving,which is one of the key technologies of intelligent traffic management system. This paper introduces the image preprocessing of license plate with using the MATLAB software environment,including the gray license plate,edge detection and gray scale corrosion,smoothing,license plate locating,character segmentation and character recognition. The automatic recognition of license plate is realized.
