高延《中国宗教体系》中典籍片段的英译研究

在国家大力鼓励中国文化走出去的背景下,代表中国传统文化的典籍英译是最有效的手段与方式。19世纪末20世纪初荷兰汉学家高延的英文著作《中国宗教体系》引用了大量的中国典籍片段,并对此进行了英文翻译。针对这部著作典籍片段英译的优点和缺点进行分析和评价,找出翻译错误的原因,提出中外合作的典籍翻译主体模式以及注意词汇翻译策略等建议。

Under the background of China encouraging Chinese culture to go abroad, the English translation of Chinese ancient records on behalf of traditional Chinese culture is the most effective means and method. At the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century, Holland Sinologist J. M. de Groot＇s English works Chinese Religious System cited a lot of Chinese fragments of ancient records, and conducted English translation.Through analysis and evaluation of the advantages and disadvantages of his English translation, the paper found out the reasons for translation errors and put forward the main mode of Sino-foreign cooperation in the translation of ancient Chinese records and word translation strategy.
