On the China's Image of the Travel Notes of Mrs.Archibald Little in China

阿奇博尔德·立德夫人是晚清时期西方来华女性中颇具代表性的一位,她的来华游记塑造的中国形象具有多重性。从肮脏、破败、毫无生气的中国形象,美丽、伟大、充满希望的中国形象,以及女性旅行者视角、旅行跨文化视角下的中国形象等几个方面来论述立德夫人笔下来华游记中中国形象的多重性,对认识当时西方的中国形象具有重要意义。

Mrs. Archibald Little was one of female western representatives who paid a visit to China from the west in the late Qing Dynasty. Her travel notes in China built up multiple China＇s images. The images from being dirty, dilapidated, and lifeless to attractive, great, and hopeful, as well as from the female traveler and cross-cultural perspectives, are of great significance to probe into the western China＇s image at that time.
