With the continuous development of science and technology, geotechnical engineering survey technology is also constantly innovation, for the promotion of China＇s engineering investigation has played an important role. This paper briefly introduces the basic geological and geotechnical engineering survey, and the application of basic geology in geotechnical engineering are analyzed, in order to provide the basic geological knowledge to provide a useful reference for the geotechnical engineering investigation.
