Some Reasons for the Slow Devetopment of Theoretical Physics in China in the 20^(th) Century

20世纪中国理论物理学发展的速度明显落后于技术物理。早期出国学习理论物理的人少,留学回国的老一辈物理学家中缺乏真正的大师,国家对理论科学研究的重视程度不够,一些政治运动对科学理论研究产生了干扰作用,这些都是导致理论物理学发展缓慢的原因。

In 20^th century, the development of theoretical physics was obviously fell behind of technological physics in China. There were few students studying theoretical physics abroad in early 20^th century. Academic master was absent among the first generation of Chinese physicists. The government didn＇t sufficiently emphasize the research on this field. Moreover, the ceaseless political movements also seriously disturbed the scientific theoretical research. All these explained the tardy development of theoretical physics in China.
