French writer of ＂Scarlet and Black＂,Stendhal constructs his novel with contrastive art which seems simple but deep in heart; full of contradictions but supplement each other. The novel shows many opposite sides with respect to its title,narration and characters,for this reason,it transcends time,race and region,leaving lingering taste for the readers,and the writer himself is reputed as ＂Master of form＂.
