Postmodern Elements in The English Patient

加拿大作家迈克尔·翁达杰的小说蕴含着后现代文学的元素。小说《英国病人》因其主题的多重性、人物形象和身份的不确定性、后现代的写作手法和颠覆一元性的传统道德价值体系的特点而显示出后现代主义作品的特征。笔者从人物、主题、写作手法和颠覆性意义这四个方面来分析小说中呈现的后现代元素。

Michael Ondaatje＇ s novel, The English Patient, contains the characteristics of postmodern literature in terms of its multi themes, figures＇ uncertain identity, postmodern crafts and its significance in subverting one polar truth. The thesis illuminates the novel＇ s postmodern characteristics from the four aspects.
