Using magnetic rotation spectroscopy,the linear dependence of magneto optical signal on the DC magnetic field strength was analyzed both theoretically and experimentally based on the Faraday magneto optical effect of gaseous NO 2.Therefore,Combining with earlier result of the linear dependence of magneto optical signal on the ac magnetic field strength ,a molecular Faraday magneto optical effect magnetometer,which can measure a magnetic field ranging from 5 μT to 100 mT and from DC to 1 MHz relatively,was presented in principle.
