Scholars have benefited a lot from Yan Genwang's gratitude to the predecessors and admonishment to young students expressed in his Governance of Three Books, which reflected his great personality as a man and his pursuit of academy. As a pure scholar, Mr. Yan had practiced the connotation of history moral all his life.
