摘要
极端条件下的辐射与物质相互作用实验装置,是洛斯·阿拉莫斯国家实验室针对美国核武器库存维护计划需要,正在建设的旗舰级实验装置,其主要任务是促进对核武器相关材料的鉴定、认证和评估。本文从建设目的、组成部分和发展规划等方面简述了该装置的概况,并结合美国核库存维护目前面临的挑战,分析了该装置的建设对美国核库存维护的重要意义。
According to the requirements of the Stockpile Stewardship Program,the Los Alamos National Laboratory is now building a flagship experiment facility of MatterRadiation Interactions in Extremes.The mission of this facility is to provide qualification,certification,and assessment of materials in the nuclear deterrent stockpile.In this paper,the purpose,constitution,and development planning of this facility is outlined,and its significant implication to nuclear stockpile stewardship of America is analyzed,which is faced with several severe challenges.
