A comparison between the celadon wares of the Longquan kiln (including both archaeologically ex- cavated and handed-down wares) and the gold and silver wares of the Song and Yuan Dynasties reveals that the types of Longquan celadon wares imitating gold and silver wares sharply increased in the Yuan Dynasty. The prototypes of the gold and silver wares imitated by the Longquan celadon wares appeared in the Song Dynasty, but their celadon imitations largely appeared in the Yuan Dynasty rather than the Song Dynasty, showing the non-concurrent development and the relatively rising status of the gold and silver wares in the Yuan Dynasty. The absorption of elements of the gold and silver wares enriched the types and decorative forms of the Longquan celadon wares, and strongly contributed to significant devel- opments of the Longquan kiln in the Yuan Dynasty.
