摘要
从化粤语常使用"VP-麽"格式发问。"VP-麽"格式由"麽"附着于VP之后构成,VP包括动词性成分和形容词性成分。用"VP-麽"格式发问,表示不确定是否VP。从语音、句法结构、功能和语义等方面分析,"VP-麽"式实质上属于"VP-neg"式反复问句。"麽"只能依附于VP之后,不能与否定词共现,也不能表测度或反诘,依然带有否定义,其实质与"VP-neg"式中的否定词并无区别,仍可将其定性为否定词。汉语史上曾发生过从"VP-无"式反复问句过渡到"VP麽"式是非问句的语法化过程,而从化粤语的"VP-麽"式只限于语音层面和句法位置的变化,还未发生语法化,这让我们观察到"VP-neg"式反复问句的具体演变进程。
The VP-mo(麽)construction often occurs in interrogative sentences in the Conghua Yue dialect,serving as an equivalent to'whether or not VP'.The VP followed by mo(麽)can be either verbal or adjectival.Based on an analysis considering the multiple perspectives of phonetics,syntax,and semantics,this paper holds that the VP-mo(麽)construction can be subsumed under the VP-Neg interrogatives.Mo(麽)is no different from negative words of the VP-Neg interrogatives and hence should be regarded as a negative word.Despite the occurrence of the development of VP-wu(無)construction into the VP-mo(麽)construction general in Chinese,only phonetic change and syntactic position alternation can be observed in the VP-mo(麽)construction in the Conghua Yue dialect,which involves no grammaticalization yet.
