摘要
2016年8月,"参考消息网"引述"纽约时报"关于中国学生的批判性思维的一则报道在国内引起热议。鉴于对中国学生批判性思维能力的估计,是与对中国教育的理念、体制、教学法和教育质量的评价密切相关的,于是追根溯源,对该报道的来龙去脉、相关学者研究的情况及其推导出的结论进行了分析,给出了与之不同的结论,认为《纽约时报》不恰当地估计了中国学生的批判性思维水平。
In August, 2016, a report in New York Times about that Chinese students are skilled at critical thinking before they enter universities causes heated debates after it was quoted by Reference News. As the evaluation of Chinese students' critical thinking skills is closely related to Chinese educational ideas, system, pedagogies and evaluation of educational quality, it is necessary to trace its source, to get a clear picture of its cause and effect, to know the relevant research and to elicit the real conclusion. It seems that New York Times might have given a wrong evaluation about the Chinese students' critical thinking skills.
