Functions of Cultural Inheritance and Cultural Education of the Chinese Language Education

教育部颁发了《完善中华优秀传统文化教育指导纲要》,开启了中国教育在新时期传承优秀传统文化、彰显中国教育的民族特色以及建设社会主义文化强国的新纪元。中学语文教材收入的古代经典作品在时间跨度上全面覆盖了我国自先秦到清代各个历史时期,而且各种文体兼备。语文教育应发挥自身的文化传承与文化教育功能,充分实现古代经典文学在历史教育、爱国精神教育和道德教育方面的价值,以语文教育特有的潜移默化、以美促善的教育方式培育学生高尚的道德情操和丰满的精神世界。

Guidance to the Improvement of Excellent Traditional Chinese Cultural Education issued by the Ministry of Education started an new epoch of inheriting excellent traditional culture, and manifesting national characteristics of Chinese education and striving to build a culturally strong socialist country. The classic works collected in middle school textbooks of the Chinese language cover the works of every style in every historical period from pre-Qin dynasties to Qing Dynasty. In the Chinese language education, teachers should bring into play the function of cultural inheritance and cultural education of the Chinese language, realize the values of classic works in the education of history, patriotism, and moral so as to cultivate student's moral sentiment and spiritual world with the unique function of the Chinese language education.
