从“三美”原则看许渊冲的古诗英译

An Analysis of Xu Yuanchong′s Translation of Classical Chinese Poetry from the Principle of "Three Beauties"

中国古典诗词因其独特的体裁和语言特点使其成为翻译界的一大难题。在古诗英译的问题上,翻译家们也是各叙其理,提出了不同的古诗翻译原则。许渊冲先生提出的"三美"原则开启了古诗翻译和译文评价的先河。在中国古诗英译时,许渊冲先生体现了自己提出的"意美""音美""形美"的三美原则,并再现了中国古诗的艺术之美。

Poetry,especially the classical Chinese poetry,has become the most difficult part in translation field for its unique literary form and language characteristics.Translators have put forth different principles in dealing with poetry translation so far.However,Xu Yuanchong′s theory of ＂ Three Beauties＂ has achieved highest with poetry translation practice.This paper aims to analyze how Mr.Xu translates classical Chinese poetry by realizing ＂ Sense Beauty＂ ＂ Aural Beauty＂ and ＂ Form Beauty＂ of the poem and get to know how he retains the artistic beauty of classical Chinese poetry in his translation.
