Through several case studies of social housing projects by MVRDV,the article discusses their core approach in designing residential projects：spatial organization and an evolving response to the changing social and behavioural needs.The article suggests that MVRDV’s design is not only centred on thinking about physical form,but also continues to confront clients and users with new departure points by seeking to increase individualisation and improving the lives of the community and neighbourhood.Their design solution respects the history of place and at the same time,creating access to greener and more public spaces that are also more efficient,sustainable and accessible to all.In the end,the article points out that architects and urbanists must also focus on the changes of behaviour and technology as well as the expansion of territory.
