Objective: To investigate the effect of PDCA management on complications and self-care ability of patients with vascular access for hemodialysis. Methods: A total of 84 patients who received hemodialysis for vascular access in our hospital from January 2015 to December 2016 were selected and were divided in two observation group and control group with the same numbers of people according to the time. The control group was given routine care. The observation group was treated with PDCA management on the basis of treatment of the control group. The incidence of complications during hemodialysis and the self-care ability of the patients before and after the intervention in the two groups were compared. Results: The incidence of blood infection, blood clotting, aneurysm and fistula thrombosis in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group( P〈0. 05),while the satisfaction rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group( P〈0. 05). The scores of self-care ability, health knowledge,self-care skills,self-concept and self-care responsibility were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group( P〈0. 05). Conclusion: PDCA management can improve the self-care ability of hemodialysis vascular access patients and reduce the complications of vascular access as well as improve the satisfaction of patients.
