全球性民主衰退:究竟是全面崩溃,还是暂时性退潮

Global Democratic Recession: Complete Collapse or Temporary Low Tide

民主与世界上其他任何事物一样也是普遍性和特殊性的统一,西式民主并非民主的唯一模式;马克思主义理论创立之初,其创始人马克思恩格斯就非常明确地把民主确立为无产阶级解放运动的一个伟大目标;民主始终是中国共产党人高扬的一面旗帜,中国共产党自成立之日起就始终不渝地奋力推进民主事业的发展;当前全球性的民主衰退现象是多种变量共同作用的结果,而不应简单地归因于民主惹的祸;人类社会走向民主是一个自然历史过程,暂时的曲折与反复并不能改变社会历史发展的基本趋势。

Democracy, as same as anything else in the world, is the unity of universality and particularity. West- ern-style democracy is not the only model of democracy. At the beginning of the establishment of Marxist theory, Marx and Engels as the founder clearly defined realizing democracy as the great goal of proletarian liberation move- ment. In practice, since the founding of the Chinese Communist Party, Chinese communists have always hold high democracy as a banner, and promoted the development of democracy unswervingly. The author believes that the cur- rent global democratic recession is the aggregate effect of various variables, which could not be simply attributed to the defects of democracy. Since the democratic development of human society is a natural and historical process, any temporary twist and turn can＇t change the basic trend of the historical development of society.
