居延汉简中的“芀”和“芀橐”

居延汉简中的"芀",有动词、名词两种用法。"芀"作为动词时应读为"铫",是割、削的意思。"芀"作为名词时意为芦苇的花絮,是用来引火的信物。"芀橐"则为盛放芦苇花絮的囊袋。

The tiao （芀） in the Juyan （居延）Bamboo Slips,which has two uses, verb and noun.When tiao （ 芀 ） as the verb should read as tiao （ 铫 ）, that means cut. And when tiao （ 芀 ） as the noun means reed catkins, that is pledge of ignition. The tiaotuo（ 芀橐 ）is the bag which contains the reed catkins.
