Expression of Chinese Culture and the Promotion of English Learning Motivation——With an Example from BBC Documentary Exploring China:a Culinary Adventure

大学英语作为高校重要的基础课程之一,其教学应该以提高学生的英语交际能力为目标,这对学生未来的职业发展起着至关重要的作用,而当前的大学英语学习普遍存在着动机不足等问题。该文以BBC纪录片《发现中国·美食之旅》为例,探究其中涉及到的中国文化表达对学生学习动机的影响,旨在为提升大学生的英语学习动机提供一些可行的建议。

College English, the teaching of which should treats the improvement of students＇ communicative competence as the teaching objective, is an important fundamental subject, and therefore plays a significant role in the career development of college students, but lack of learning motivation is one of the common problems in college English learning. With the example from the BBC documentary, Exploring China： a Culinary Adventure, this paper examines the effects of the involved Chinese cultural expressions on college students＇ learning motivations, aiming to offer some suggestions on the promotion of college students＇ English learning motivations.
