The Dilemma of Contemporary Democratic Socialism and Its Transformation Path

经历了20世纪50年代至70年代的"黄金时代"以后,民主社会主义陷入了前所未有的两难困境。在民主社会主义价值体系无法摆脱多重危机和两难困境的情况下,西方国家的社会党纷纷走向了转型道路。为了迎合民众的需求,社会党借助"第三条道路"对传统价值体系进行抽象化阐释。从实际效用看,"第三条道路"确实更新了传统的理论体系和政治策略,但是它在原则上放弃了作为制度目标的社会主义,否定了社会主义的历史必然性,在根本上脱离了社会主义的现实基础和发展方向。

After experiencing the ＂golden age＂ of 1950s to 1970s, democratic socialism fell into the unprecedented dilemma. In the case of the value systems of democratic socialism couldn＇t get rid of the multiple crises and dilemmas, the socialist parties in western countries had moved toward the transformation roads. In order to cater to people＇s needs, the socialist parties explained the traditional value system abstractly in the ＂third way＂. In the view of practical utility, the ＂third way＂ indeed updated the traditional theoretical system and political strategies. However, it abandoned socialism as a system goal in principle and denied the historical inevitability of socialism. So, it had detached the realistic foundation and development direction of the socialism in fundamental ways.
