摘要
美国著名印第安作家莫马迪的小说《日诞之地》生动再现了印第安原生文化形态,诸如印第安狩猎、农耕习俗,玉米舞、太阳舞典仪等文化习俗以及其中所蕴含的生态思想。对小说中蕴含的印第安生态伦理意蕴进行阐述,并指出美国印第安人的生态伦理可以概述为万物合一的宇宙整体观、尊崇大地为母亲的土地观、尊重万物灵性的动物观、表达和谐诉求的典仪文化。古老的印第安文明蕴含的生态智慧可促使我们反思现代文化的人类中心主义倾向,为构建现代生态文化提供有益的价值参照。
House Made of Dawn is the masterpiece of American Indian writer, N.Scott Momaday. In the novel, Momaday vividly describes the traditional Indian cultures such as hunting, farming, corn dance, sun dance ceremony and so on. This paper decipers the traditional Native American cultures reflected in the novel, including harmony and unity of all things, respect for land and animals, appeal for harmony through Indian ceremony,all of which are the core of the Indian value system.This paper highlights the Native Americans' harmonious cultural spirit in the novel, so as to criticize the anthropocentrism in modern culture and provide a reference for the construction of a modern ecological culture.
