Inflammatory reaction plays an important role in the mechanism of cerebral ischemia-reper- fusion injury, and the activation of microglia in the brain is an important link in the inflammatory response. In the process of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury, microglias are activated, and these cells play a dual role in both neural cells injury and protection. The complexity of the effect of microglia on the mechanism of cerebral is- chemia-reperfusion injury makes it more and more meaningful for the research. In this review, the dual role of microglial in cerebral ischemia-reperfusioninjury were discussed, from the perspective of microglia involved in inflammatory response and the role of microglia in cerebral ischemia-reperfusioninjury.
