摘要
头发是《所罗门之歌》中最重要的审美意象之一;通过分析哈格尔对头发打理方式为标尺的白人女性美标准的照搬及她的毁灭,论证非洲裔美国男性奶娃对白人女性美标准态度与非洲裔美国女性美标准建构的张力,评述派拉特通过剪短头发等方式对白人女性美标准的颠覆,奶娃的觉醒对非洲裔女性美建构的作用,可以得出莫瑞森通过拨用审美意象头发来表达其审美取向:自然的外形美和人格美的结晶应该成为非洲裔美国女性美的标准,女性美应该有自己的种族特质。
Hair is one of the most important aesthetic image in Song of Solomon; By analyzing Hagar's adaptation of the Beauty standard of European or White ideals blindly which led to her self-destruction, examining the tension between African-American male's aesthetic expectations and construction of African American Standards of Beauty, commentating the subversion of the Beauty standard of European or White ideals by Pilate, the role that Milkman played during the construction of African American Standards of Beauty, the following conclusions can be drawn that, to Toni Morrison, the true beauty for the African-American woman is the combination between the natural body figure and the feeling about herself, her style and her heritage, and that American cultural ideal of beauty is based on racial identity
