By means of comparison and contrast,this paper analyzes the different and similar causes of the disillusions of American dreams of Gatsby in The Great Gatsby and Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman,thus it concluded that the inextricable conflicts between dreams and harsh realities are the common causes of their death. Furthermore,it revealed the inevitability of the disillusions of American dream.
