寻根文学远离了时代政治、经济环境,把目光转向自然和民间,在人与自然、社会的冲突中展现"人"的生命状态,并对影响着中国人的那些古老的价值理念进行了深入的思考。从总体上看,寻根文学所关注的是体现着一定文化精神的"人",作家们在远离了时代风云的同时,也远离了人的现实生存。因此,寻根文学在完成了自身的历史使命后,逐渐走向消退,让位于更加接近生活中"人"的真实状态的新写实、新现实主义创作。

The root - seeking literature is far away from the political and economic environment of the times, turning its eyes to the nature and the folk, showing the life state of human in the conflict between man and nature and society, and deeply thinking on the ancient values that affect the Chinese people. On the whole, the root - seeking literature is concerned with the cultural spirit people, the writers are far away from the times, but also far away from the reality of human survival. Therefore, after the completion of its own histor- ical mission, the root seeking literature gradually fades to the new realism which is closer to the real state of man in life.
