摘要
1927年艾达·泽特林(Ida Zeitlin)的《格斯尔汗:西藏的传说》是《格萨尔》史诗早期重要英文版本,以该版本封面上的"TOLD BY IDA ZEITLIN"为出发点,对英语世界关于这部史诗的"述说"现象进行研究,认为该版本其实采用的是"译创"的翻译方法,"译创"的本质是"去史诗化",考虑了当时英语世界对藏族史诗的接受环境和读者群体,对史诗生命在海外的拓展与延伸有重要意义。
Ida Zeitlin＇s GESSAR-KHAN.＂ A LEGEND OF TIBET （1927） is one of the most important early versions in English world. Starting with ＂TOLD BY IDA ZEITLIN＂ on its cover, this paper analyses the phenomenon of＂TOLD BY IDA ZEITLIN＂ and holds that this is an English version of composition in translation. It also analyzes possible factors which have impact on Zeitlin＇s choice, which is creative treason in nature in literary translation with the consideration of recipient environment and readership in English world at that time. This is significant for oversea expansion and extension of life of the epic, and also provides references for translation and dissemination of ethnic classics.
