Private Housing in Hong Kong:Development and Design

住宅是城市建筑中最重要的组成部分,也是市民安居乐业的根本需要。香港二战后70年来私人住宅的发展,反映了这个城市社会和经济情况的变迁。本文着重考察了香港私人住宅发展中几个里程碑式的类型:城市边缘工业区拆建成的大型屋苑;离岛和远郊的大型发展项目;铁路村庄中的屋邨。作者对这些屋邨进行了初步的调查,希望此文填补香港住宅研究的空白并对我国的住宅发展有所帮助。

Residential building is the most important component of urban architecture, it also acts as the basic requirement for citizens＇ dwelling. Socioeconomic progress of Hong Kong has been demonstrated by its private housing development since the 1970s. This article focuses on several milestones of private housing projects in Hong Kong： large-scale housing estates built on former industrial site; those built on outlying islands and rural areas; and those in the New Territories along the railway. The authors have conducted preliminary investigation on them, in hope of filling the gaps in Hong Kong housing study, thus providing reference for residential building development in the Chinese cities.
