An Outline of the Frontier Governance of the Central Leading Group of the People's Republic of China

治国必治边,中国历代边疆治理的理论凝聚与经验萃取表明:"治边"和"治国"密切相关,意欲国家强盛就要重视"边疆治理",从而,维护国家统一、保证边疆稳定、促进边疆发展,实现"治国理政"的"帕累托改进",即国家安定、经济繁荣、社会进步,增强整个国家的综合国力。因此,新中国历届中央领导集体高度重视边疆民族地区,并形成了"军事卫边""政治安边""经济富边"等有中国特色,且一脉相承,但有继承、有发展的治边方略。

The theory and experience of frontier governance of China show that frontier governance is closely related to the country governance, and the prosperity of a nation is based on its frontier governance, so as to safeguard na-tional unity, ensure the stability of the border areas and promote the frontier development. Therefore, China’ s all leaderships have been attaching a great importance to the frontier regions, forming a series of strategies of frontier governance with Chinese characteristics.
