The traditional political organizations and political systems of the ethnic minority groups in Yunnan province: A comparative study of the societies and cultures of the Tai,the Lahu and the Dulong ethnic groups

云南省各少数民族文化多样,历史发展进程不尽相同,在20世纪50年代以前,这种多样性也突出地反映在形态各异的社会组织形式和政治制度方面。从社会政治合法性建构、社会阶层划分、政治组织、社会规范体系等四个维度探讨云南少数民族传统政治制度的类型、构成和作用机制,描述和解释云南少数民族传统政治制度的发展历程,有助于探索云南少数民族社会政治与社会生活的关系。

The ethnic minority groups in Yunnan province are diverse in culture and different in their historical development. Before the 1950 s,the diversity was prominently reflected in different forms of social organizations and political systems. This paper discusses the types,compositions and mechanisms of the traditional political system of the ethnic minority groups in Yunnan from the perspectives of the political legitimacy,the social stratification,the political organizations and the social norms. The historical description and explanation of the traditional political system of the ethnic minority groups in Yunnan will help reveal the relationship between the social politics and social life of the ethnic minority groups in Yunnan.
