The national standard for coke and its physico chemical characteristics are presented, the experience in phosphorus production is summed up, and the effect is analyzed of such factors as specific resistance of coke, its composition and particle size on furnace production. It is suggested that the coke quality must be carefully ensured, weighing accurate, mixing of the charge uniform, and particle size of coke charged into the furnace under strict control, so that the furnace will operate normally.
