摘要
基于《大学英语教学指南》,聚焦三所二本应用型本科院校,采用问卷和访谈的方法,旨在深入了解学生对大学英语后续课程的需求及影响需求的因素。研究发现:学生对通用英语、职业英语和跨文化交际课程的总体需求相对较高,对学术英语和应试辅导课程的需求则偏低;语言水平影响学生对跨文化交际和应试辅导课程的需求,专业背景影响其对学术英语和职业英语课程的需求;学生对自身英语技能的评估、对课程特性和教学方法的偏好、对学校人才培养目标的理解,以及对课程难度的预估也可能影响其对课程的需求。
Based on "Guidelines on College English Teaching", the study uses questionnaires and inter- views to thoroughly investigate students' needs for College English follow-up curriculum and the influen- cing factors at three application-oriented colleges. The results show that students" overall needs for EGP, EOP and Intercultural Communication courses are relatively higher while the needs for EAP and test prep- aration courses are lower. Students' language proficiency influences the needs for Intercultural Communica- tion and test preparation courses, and their major influences the needs for EAP and EOP courses. The needs may also be affected by students" self-assessment of their language skills, preference for certain course features and teaching approaches, understanding of the college's talent cultivation objectives as well as their prediction of the course's difficulty level.
