Ficus hirta Vahl has edible and medicinal values and can be used to prepare soup or treat illness as a traditional Chinese medicinal plant. Excessive deforestation has resulted in gradual decline in wild resources of F. hirta Vahl. Effective propagation methods for F. hirta Vahl are well sought. Seed propagation, cutting propagation, tissue culture, field management and pest control of F. hirta Vahl were reviewed for the betterment of conservation and utilization of germplasm of F. hirta Vahl.
