New Orientation of Contemporary Information Science

[目的/意义]探讨当代情报学面临的问题,以推动情报学学科发展。[方法/过程]介绍情报学的含义,将情报学与信息学、图书馆学、信息管理、知识管理作系统比较,分析信息、知识、情报的概念,并阐述对情报学重新定位的思考。[结果/结论]情报学发展不能囿于文献信息加工领域,应当更进一步地向信息深加工领域发展。新的情报学是以公开信息为基础,以决策为主要目的的学科。

[Purpose/significance]The paper is to discuss problems faced by contemporary information science to promote the de- velopment of the subject. [Method/process ]The paper introduces connotation of information science, systemically compares information science with informatics, library science, information management and knowledge management, discriminates concepts of information, knowledge and intelligence, and elaborates reflection on new orientation of information science. [Result/conclusion]Development of in- formation science cannot be limited in the field of document processing, should further develop toward the field of information process- ing. New information science is a subject based on public information and mainly serving for decision-making.
