The Joy Luck Club,by overseas Chinese female writer Amy Tan,is a depiction of Chinese culture against the background of American cultural which highlights the experience of women living in the collision of traditional Chinese culture and American culture. The Joy Luck Club stretches from the semi-colonial,semi-feudal China to the twenty-century America,and talks about the story of two generations in two cultures.The novel is filled with metaphors and hints with symbolism leaving unlimited imagination to readers. The paper carries out analysis from the aforementioned angle,because of the lack of related research.
