翻译中译者的主体过滤性对译文的影响——以《红楼梦》第三回的两个英译本为例

Effect of Filtration of the Translator on Translation——Based on Two Versions of Hong Lou Meng

翻译活动作为两种文化之间交流的桥梁,在跨文化交际中有着极其重要的作用。翻译的质量在某种程度上制约着跨文化交际的质量。而影响翻译质量的因素多种多样。本文以《红楼梦》第三回的两种最广为流传的两种译本作为素材,从不同的文化背景,译者的翻译目的及翻译观念,以及由于译者理解的偏差等方面着手,对影响翻译质量的因素进行了探究。从译者的主体过滤性出发,分析作为翻译活动主体的译者,由于自身的因素而对译文质量产生的影响。

Translation bridges cultures and plays an importance role in intercultural communications.The quality of translation greatly influences intercultural communication, which is also determined by various reasons. The present study, based on analysis of two famous English versions of Hong Lou Meng, tries to compare the two versions from the perspective of the filtration of the translator, including their cultural background, the aim of their translation, and their deviation in their understanding, to find out the factors in the translator influencing the quality of translation.
