病理诊断是疾病诊断的最后诊断,病理诊断决定了患者的治疗方案选择和预后的预测。但目前由于病理医生的短缺,尤其是基层医院病理医生的严重短缺,病理诊断水平的参差不齐,制约了基层医院临床诊疗水平的提高和发展。病理会诊是解决基层医院病理诊断困难的重要手段之一,但传统的病理会诊方式费时、费钱,效率低,上级医院会诊明确后,患者即从基层医院流失,不利于分级诊疗和基层医院的进步和发展。随着数字切片技术的不断发展以及网络传输速度的提高,远程病理会诊应用得到极大的发展,其应用日益广泛,可以解决组织病理学、术中冰冻切片及细胞学等远程病理会诊,还可进行远程教学。远程病理会诊及时、高效、灵活等优势确保了病理诊断质量,解决了基层医院病理资源短缺和病理诊断水平参差不齐的问题,减轻患者经济负担,同时对提高基层医院临床的诊疗水平和降低了医疗风险起到积极的作用。

As a definitive diagnosis in determining the nature of a disease, pathological diagnosis is crucial for selection of treatment regimens and prediction of patients＇ prognosis. Currently, due to lack of pathologists, particularly in local and county hospi- tals, pathological diagnosis levels are uneven that has restricted the improvement and development of clinical diagnosis and treatment in these hospitals. Pathological consultation is one of the important means that helps local and county hospitals resolve their difficulties in pathological diagnosis. However, traditional pathological consultation is costing, time consuming and inefficient. Moreover, this may lead to patient churn from primary hospitals after definitive diagnosis is made in superior hospitals, which limits improvement and de- velopment of these hospitals and the hierarchical medical system. With the development of digital slides and the increase in network transmission speed, telepathology consultation has been developed rapidly. It has been used widely such as remote consultation for his- topathology, intraoperative frozen section and cytology as well as distance teaching. With the advantages of time-saving, efficiency and flexibility, telepathology consultation ensures the quality of pathological diagnosis, resolves the diagnostic difficulties in local and coun- ty hospitals due to lack of resources and limited diagnostic capability, relieves patients＇ financial burden, and plays an active role in improving clinical diagnosis and treatment in local and county hospitals and reducing medical risk.
