A Cognitive Approach to Word Order of Multiple Attributives in English & Chinese

认知语言学是２０世纪９０年代在国际理论语言学界新兴的一个语言学学派。该文根据认知语言学的距离象似动因原理，探讨了英汉两种语言的多项定语的语序规律，两者的共性证明了表层的句法结构往往可以找到认知──语义上的理据。

As a new branch of international theoretical linguistics, cognitive linguistics took shape during the 1990s. The present paper, guided by the principle of iconic-distance motivation, explores the regular word order of multiple attributives in English and Chinese. The regularity shared by the two languages demonstrates that some syntactic structures are prone to possess cognitive & semantic motivation.
