The Speaking on the Symposium of “ZHOU Ruchang and the Modern Redology”

周汝昌先生是现代红学史上唯一一位亲承过第一代"开山宗师"教诲又与其下三代学人发生直接联系,以一身而亲历百年学术,见证学界"四世同堂"的红学大家,是一位从民国走来又被华夏旧文化浸透、个性色彩鲜明的独立学人。晚年周汝昌先生所面对的,是特定时代所造就的一批人,是难以抗衡的体制化乃至庙堂化的"学术"权威,更是一种已被西化乃至极端意识形态化的治学理念。周先生在红学基本问题研究、学术方法论乃至红学学科建设等方面所留下的遗产,是值得珍视的宝贵财富。"周汝昌红学"所具有的"一以贯之"的民族文化气脉与学术独立精神,尤其值得继承与弘扬。

Mr. ZHOU Ruchang is an independent scholar with bright colors in the history of modern redology,who is the only one inherited the first generation of redology founders and directly related to the three generations of scholars after him. He has studied A Dream of Red Mansions for almost one century and witnessed＂four generations＂in redology. In Mr. ZHOU Ruchang＇s later years,what he faced are the group of people of specific time,the institutionalized ＂academic＂authority that difficult to compete,and the extreme ideological concept of westernization. Mr. ZHOU＇s legacy in the fields of research on fundamental problems,academic methodology and the construction of the discipline is a precious treasure. Mr. ZHOU＇s national cultural integrity and academic independent spirit is especially worth inheriting and promoting.
