论翻译对中国社会及文学现代化转型之建构

On the Role of Translation in the Construction of the Modernization of Chinese Society and Literature

翻译并不是一种中立的、脱离政治及意识形态的单纯的文字转换活动,翻译是一种基于一定价值判断的目的性政治行为,具有塑造历史的力量。本文在分析晚清和五四翻译活动的基础上,论证了翻译对中国传统文学的解构以及对文学新形式的构建作用,探讨了翻译在社会文化转型和建设中的功能和重要地位。

Translation is not a neutral or pure text conversion far away from the political and ideological struggle but is a political behavior with specified purposes on the base of certain value judgments and even has the power to shape the history.Taking the translation in the late Qing Dynasty and the May Fourth Movement as an example,this paper analyzes the effect of translation to deconstruct the local literature as well as to construct new forms of literature,and discusses the important role that translation has played in the social and cultural transformation and development.
