With the incidence of thyroid cancer increased year by year, the patients＇quality of life after operation are increasingly taken seriously. One of the most common complications after thyroid cancer operation is muscle spasm caused by hypocalcemia. Monitoring serum calcium and calcium supplementation are the routine treatment, but there are no good treaments for patients with muscle spasm but no hypocalcemia. This article excerpts a proved case from professor Zuo Xinhe, to treat a patient with muscle spasm but has a normal electrolyte,using the treatment of supplementing Qi and nourishing Yin. This treatment has achieved satisfactory results,which proved that supplementing Qi and nourishing Yin is a goog choice in postoperative thyroid cancer treatment.
